Community Services Case Study

Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Saint Louis, is one of the largest private providers of social services in the state of Missouri. Organized as a federation, Catholic Charities is comprised of eight agencies offering more than 100 programs to assist, on average, more than 140,000 poor and impoverished people annually.

Community Services Provided by Volunteers and Staff

Catholic Charities agencies and more than 5,700 volunteers are dedicated to providing community services to countless children, women, and men who do not have enough to eat; who are deprived of adequate education, housing, or employment; or, who suffer the trauma of abuse or neglect.

Catholic Charities works with individuals and families, by providing community services that help them meet their needs, address their issues, eliminate oppression and build a just and compassionate society.

Family and Community Services Provision

These St. Louis family and community services agencies work with Archdiocesan and other social service agencies and health care facilities to minister to the needs of the underserved in their communities. Each center offers a variety of programs to meet the specific needs of the people in their service area. Several family and community services agencies are located throughout Greater St. Louis.
