Stefon Taylor / Bionik
Stefon Taylor (BIONIK) started playing music at age 12 and began his professional career working at Chicago Recording Company in 1991. While at Chicago Recording Company, BIONIK was trained by Peter Mokran and worked with artists such as: R. Kelly, Aliyah, The Winans Family, Smashing Pumpkins, Izzy Straddlin, Sting, James Cotton and Junior Wells. His talent in the studio led him to the United Kingdom where he engineered, programmed and produced four albums for Island/Independiente recording artist John Martyn between 1996 and 2000.
Since 1998, BIONIK has engineered and produced projects with Lady Saw, Everton Blender, Johnny Osborne and Frankie Paul, Ice-T, Too $hort, Kool Keith, Volume 10, Baby Bash and Lil’ Rob – to name a few. BIONIK’s music and production is also featured in many movies and television shows including Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift, C.S.I.: NY, The “L” word, Las Vegas, So You Think You Can Dance and EA Sports videogame, “Madagascar.”
