Your bright eyes glisten
In the playground by the slide
But when I see you in the classroom
They become even more wide
Is it the T-Rex or the math
That tickles your eager mind?
Your inspire us to teach you
And to be kind
You always shake
You always speak
When I request
Your great technique
Your steady purr
Warms up my lap
And fills the gap
That's in my heart
In every canvas my heart
For every stroke I start
I feel the life inside
Blossom and collide
Show me your art
And I'll show you mine
To give is to receive
In exchange, a smile.
To give is to forget
That the world can be dark.
Today I stretch my hand
Hoping you will build an ark
A hammer on the right hand, clenched
Hope on the left hand, eager
My people rises with a shout:
'Ready the metal and your hearts!'
Through uncertainty and fear
We walk towards the future
Giving hope and a hammer
To all neighbors that work hard
Beautiful blooming begonia
Strong standing spruce
Your lush green conveys
A rich and delicate juice
Delicate docile dragonfly
Catty carnivorous cheeta
The elegance of your moves
Motivates me to improve
Imagination pouring out of my mind
Barely eight and my steps were but a fraction of my dad's
Backpack hanging, mom's lunchbox in hand
Together we braved the perils in our path
Through volcanos and castles grand
School awaited at the end of our path
Though you are my rock, you are tender
Though you are my solace, you're strong
You give me my peace and my sharpness
To battle those things that are wrong:
Poverty, suffering and disease
Dampen our bodies, minds and souls
All I ask of you, my lord
Is the strength to share with all your word
