Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers in Honolulu, Hawaii has worked with CTK for six plus years to develop a web-based data management system that is propelled by our organization’s mission and vision. KOKA-FLC is dedicated to educating parents and their children, strengthening families, enriching local communities, and perpetuating Hawaiian culture.

Historically, Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers used CTK to track the number of individual program participants that we served. We were originally intrigued by the potential of virtually linking multiple adults with multiple children (literally creating family or “ohana” groups), and exploring the possibility of tracking KOKA program participation for each individual. Our Research Department now uses statistical analysis of a variety of pre and post-assessment measures for both children and adults to determine educational gains and improvements.

Keiki O Ka Aina’s commitment to using available technology to improve the quality of our services has allowed us to continue searching out new and effective ways to measure the impact of our programs for each of our various constituent groups, i.e., communities, families, parents and children. KOKA-FLC is currently in the process of using CTK to build additional capacity by implementing a new application process, beginning with central intake and recruiting procedures. In the near future, a new evaluation project holds the greatest potential for improving our ability to address outcomes and impact organization-wide.
